Brian Byun

Brian Byun (b. 1990, Seoul, South Korea), received his BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013 and his MFA from Hunter College in 2019. He studied painting initially at Brookhaven College in Dallas, Texas and then went on to Chicago, IL. After graduating from the SAIC, Byun moved to New York City to attend the MFA program in painting at Hunter College. While at Hunter, Byun began working at as an artist’s assistant with Takashi Murakami’s painting studio in Long Island City. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

The exhibition Fence Face at Kate Werble (2022-2023), marks Byun’s first solo show in New York.
